The Vintage Fret Shop was founded in 1970 by David Colburn. Vintage Fret now makes its home in what was once the town blacksmith's shop, next to the river. Musicians from all over the world have found great company, quality repairs, and inspiring musical instruments here. They keep coming back. We hope that you will too.

STAFF David Colburn, Proprietor. When he's not fixing instruments or helping people pick out new ones, David is a wonderful folk performer who has toured worldwide as half of "Colburn & Stuart." |

Scot Maywalt, Repair. Possibly the only repair technician in New England who can boast of a degree in Philosophy of Religion, Scot is able to work wonders with string instruments of all kinds. His banjo restoration work is especially notable, and he is a certified Fender repairperson. In addition to his repair work, Scot performs everything from biker rock to international dance music, and composes some very unusual music of his own. | |

Dick Elkinton, Office Manager. We couldn't do what we do without Dick, who does our ordering and keeps all manner of wheels running smoothly. He also knows a lot about guitars. |
